Synergy Parklands is one of the two great playgrounds in Kings Park.

Our kids call it the 'dinosaur playground' because it features a concrete model of a Western Australian dinosaur that you can climb on. The theme of the parklands is about energy and how natural resources are created as it's sponsored by WA's electricity provider.

It contains lots of up high climbing type equipment, and is more suitable for older children, or well supervised toddlers.

The coffee comes from Cafe Zamia, which sits up on the hill overlooking the parklands and the lake. The cafe does takeaway coffees icecreams snacks and food, or you can sit down and enjoy a lovely meal in the restaurant area (the Steak Sandwich is highly recommended).

We normally do takeaway coffee to sip while watching the kids clamber on the dinosaur or slide down the firefighters' pole on the island.
