Darlington Recreation Ground

High in the hills in Darlington is a lovely park and playground across the road from a great country style general store that is also a bakery and tearooms.

The playground is next to the tennis courts in Darlington Recreation Ground.  The playground is new, with sand on the ground and no shade sails, but some shade from nearby trees. The playground has a castle or knights theme and there are towers and bridges, a climbing wall and a collection of rope climbing equipment - a few things we had not seen anywhere else.

The coffee comes from The Pines General Store, Bakery and Tearooms, which is literally across the road from the playground.  Where you park your car is it equal distance (about 20m) to the playground in one direction and the shop in the other.  We had coffees and some fresh baked pastries for morning tea.

There are toilets in the park, in the community hall which is close to the playground.

Owen Road Darlington (just off Darlington Road, turn right off Great Eastern Hwy just before you get to the swimming pool).
